One thing I hear about often: the coworker people dread dealing with. What I've noticed is that there's often a predictable pattern behind this conflict. Once you see it, a lot of workplace frustration makes more sense. I'm doing a LinkedIn Live about how to spot that pattern and know what to actually do about it. If you're dealing with a frustrating coworker, leave your question in the comments and I may address it live.

Right now, burnout isn’t rare. More than half of employees report it. But it’s not affecting who you might think. Often, it’s the most reliable people who reach a breaking point. Once you understand why, you can spot the warning signs early and prevent it.

I think of Determination Day (2/28) as a reminder it’s never too late to return to a resolution—and I created this worksheet to help when yours isn’t working as you’d hoped. Check it out: https://bit.ly/4r2lFHg

I’ve spent more than 12 years studying habits and human nature. While it’s true that money alone can’t buy happiness, our spending decisions can certainly contribute or detract from it. This insight led me to design a rule that adds more clarity, energy and freedom to my life... Take a no-spend month. Research shows that although impulse buys give us a brief dopamine spike, the pleasure fades quickly—and no-spend month breaks the loop of impulse buying. Here’s a step-by-step article that shows you how you can try one out yourself: https://cnb.cx/4s2ict5

I haven’t crossed off much from my 26 for ’26 list yet, but my sister Elizabeth and I did complete a No-Spend Month. Here’s my current list, plus a few others. By today (2/28), many people have abandoned their New Year’s resolutions. I think of it as Determination Day, a chance to reevaluate what isn’t working. Resolutions often stall when they lack specificity. Here’s a worksheet you can use to help you get specific about what you’re trying to accomplish: https://bit.ly/4r2lFHg.

Very memorable time at SXSW. I spent the week in nonstop conversations about what it takes to build a happier life alongside Kim Holderness, Jennifer Wallace, Kate Bowler, Karen Guggenheim, Lori Santos, Nick Epley, Nir Eyal, Deepika Chopra, and Ann Shoket at the World Happiness Summit and the SHE Media Co-Lab. Boy, I love a conference. I love a badge, a corporate hotel, and talking to people about how to live a happier life.

Nothing makes me happier than a new preoccupation. This one began with a question. What’s your signature color? I couldn't choose. But the more I considered it, the more the subject of color gripped me. So I did what I always do when an idea takes hold: I headed to the library. And I was astonished by what I found. Color influences us whether we're aware of it or not. It's ubiquitous yet hard to describe. And the facts I uncovered were stranger than I expected: “Mummy brown” paint was made from Egyptian mummy remains. People were once poisoned by their green wallpaper. When I think about color, I see things in a way I didn't see them before. Ordinary life became more vivid. So here’s the happiness hack: Take your own Color Pilgrimage. This March on Substack, I’m sending out an exclusive series of essays, drawn from a side project I’ve been working on for years: ”My Color Pilgrimage.” This Substack series is the first time I’m sharing some of this writing, and the full posts will be accessible only to paid subscribers. Pam’s right. By 2/28, most people have abandoned their New Year’s resolutions. Instead of feeling discouraged, I like to treat this moment as “Determination Day” a chance to pause, reevaluate, and try a new approach. If your resolution has slowed down, use this as an opportunity to rethink what’s working and what isn’t. Here's how to get back on track: https://bit.ly/4u6KwwA.

Middle school has a way of turning tiny differences into big social consequences. A “Since You Asked” listener wrote in about their son being excluded from group texts because he has an Android in a sea of iPhones. If you’re a parent in this situation, it can feel like your values are in collision: Do we hold the line? Do we switch phones? Do we turn this into a lesson about peer pressure? But the thing worth naming out loud is this: your child isn’t asking for a status symbol. They’re asking for connection. Listen to our advice on the latest episode of Since You Asked: https://apple.co/4hTt3C2
