Back to school. Sake brewing.
My unforgettable Sake making experience at Obata Shuzo‘s Gakkogura (brewery school) on Sado Island (Niigata Prefecture) in a renovated school building with probably one of the best views.
It is a one week long hands-on program, in which participants can brew their own Sake while going through most of the Sake brewing stages.
This really opened my eyes to how much work is behind each milliliter (or liter) Sake we are happily enjoying every other day.
Sake brewing is not only about the brewing process itself, but over 50% of the time goes into meticulous preparation and cleaning. My perceived value of each Sake bottle has definitely changed since then.
