Centuries-old traditions are meeting cutting-edge technology in the most unexpected places—including the world of international equestrian sport. When I first spoke with Daniel, audience scoring was a dream—now, fans around the world can participate in real-time judging, reshaping what it means to be part of the event. From virtual training and AI coaching to global competitions you can join from anywhere, it’s proof that tech isn’t just for Silicon Valley—it’s rewriting the playbook for every arena, even those that have stood for generations. If you love stories about how innovation brings people together, this is one you don’t want to miss. What if everything you know about social media engagement is wrong? For many brands, outdated engagement myths stand between them and real community-building—but to lead in today’s digital landscape, we need to go further than vanity metrics. In a new article, our Thulium Director of Brand Strategy & Growth breaks down the most persistent misconceptions, highlighting what actually drives connection and business outcomes. Here’s what sets impactful leaders apart: They recognize that likes, comments, shares, and saves signal different levels of attention and intent. They prioritize genuine dialogue, responding and listening—never “ghost posting.” They build an engaged audience before launching campaigns or advanced tactics. Their strategy measures impact by meaningful interaction, not surface-level applause. Success is about more than numbers. Leadership is measured in influence, and influence begins with authentic engagement. Is it time to shift your thinking—and your metrics? What’s one engagement myth you’ve seen brands fall for? Drop your own experience (or questions) in the comments—Gage G. and I would love to hear from you! We're thrilled to share this fascinating conversation between our CEO, Tamara McCleary, and David Johnston, CIO of Messer Americas - the world's largest privately-owned industrial gases company. David takes us behind the scenes of how Messer transformed their data architecture to deliver "Gases for Life" with unprecedented precision. From powering the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons to ensuring critical oxygen supply for hospitals during COVID-19, David reveals how Messer leveraged SAP BTP to revolutionize their operations. What started with 5 use cases exploded to over 200, demonstrating the power of data-driven decision making. Most compelling was learning how Messer's digital transformation wasn't just a technology upgrade - it was a cultural revolution that united business stakeholders around a shared vision of enterprise data. 🎧 Listen to the full episode of SAP Better Together Customer Conversations to discover how Messer is building the foundation for AI-powered innovation in industrial gas delivery. https://lnkd.in/gnuV9pw #Innovation #Technology #DigitalTransformation #Management #AI #DataAnalytics #Leadership #Business #Tech #Manufacturing

As we wind down 2024, the interplay of social media, mental health, and AI weighs heavily on my mind. In these shorter days and longer nights, I find myself reflecting on how we navigate our digital lives while preserving our mental well-being♥️ 💡Dr. Cornelia C. Walther's recent Forbes analysis brilliantly illuminates the complex relationship between our digital existence and mental health. Her insights particularly resonate as we approach the end of the year. The paradoxes of our online existence are striking. While we collectively acknowledge that reducing social media time might benefit us all, many remain tethered - some by professional necessity, others seeking real-time information and connections, and yes, many driven by FOMO. As a leader in the digital space, I've witnessed how social platforms have become indispensable channels for breaking news, professional networking, and global discourse. Reading through Walther's insights, I found myself nodding in recognition at these fundamental patterns shaping our online lives: ✨The "Commoner's Dilemma": We recognize collective harm but rationalize our individual use ✨The "Short-Term vs. Long-Term" battle: Trading meaningful offline connections for quick digital dopamine hits ✨AI's dual nature: Both amplifying our challenges and offering potential solutions What moves me most is how AI is reshaping our digital landscape. As someone deeply involved in technology and human purpose, I see tremendous opportunity in using AI to build mental resilience rather than undermine it. 🤔As we approach 2025, what innovative ways have you found to maintain digital wellness while staying professionally engaged? Have you discovered any unique strategies for creating boundaries that actually work in our hybrid world? Share your most effective methods for creating boundaries that work - I'd love to learn from your experiences and wisdom. 🔗Link to Walther's full article in the comments #MentalHealth #AI #DigitalWellbeing #Leadership #Innovation #SocialMedia #TechForGood #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation #MindfulTech #WellbeingAtWork #AIEthics #DigitalLeadership #TechTrends2025 #MentalHealthAwareness

Engagement isn’t just about racking up likes—it’s about creating impact. A “like” is a wave 👋 A comment is a conversation 💬 A share with perspective? That’s influence in action 🚀 The truth is, not all engagement is created equal. A quick reaction might boost visibility, but thoughtful interaction builds trust, community, and brand loyalty. It’s the difference between being seen and being remembered. As Gage G. explains in her latest article, engagement tells the story of your brand through your audience’s actions—each reaction revealing what resonates, what inspires, and what endures. Discover why what counts as engagement matters more than ever—and how it can transform your presence into real progress. In 2025, AI stopped being “emerging” and became the plumbing behind almost every marketing, analytics, and social strategy. At the same time, social platforms evolved from channels into civic infrastructure shaping narratives, trust, and belonging. As we move into 2026, leaders face a new mandate: success is no longer only measured in engagement, reach, or ROAS. It’s about designing systems, campaigns, and experiences that are ethical, human-centered, and resilient—where AI amplifies human judgment, not replaces it, and where trust is treated as an economic and social asset. In this piece, I explore the durable learnings from 2025 and what forward-thinking leaders must prioritize to ensure innovation serves people, not just dashboards. #CMO #MarketingStrategy #AIMarketing #FutureofMarketing #Leadership

The pursuit of workplace happiness isn't just a feel-good initiative - it's a powerful driver of organizational success. I recently participated in a fascinating study conducted by workplace culture expert S. Chris Edmonds, who analyzed the results of my dual-platform polls on workplace happiness across LinkedIn and X. The results were striking: an overwhelming 60% of respondents identified positive team culture as the primary key to workplace happiness, significantly outweighing factors like competitive compensation (19%), career growth (13%), and having trusted work friends (8%). 🤔Why This Matters🤔 This data aligns perfectly with Deloitte's groundbreaking research, which revealed a strong correlation between workplace happiness and well-articulated, lived organizational culture. At Thulium, we've experienced this firsthand, having worked with Chris to cultivate an environment where happiness isn't just an outcome - it's woven into our operational DNA. 🌟The Culture-First Approach🌟 The path to workplace happiness follows a clear three-phase journey: ✅Define your desired culture through purpose, values, and measurable behaviors ✅Align all organizational elements with your ideal culture ✅Refine through continuous improvement and values-based hiring As leaders, our responsibility extends beyond profit margins - we must create environments where people thrive. When we prioritize positive team culture, everything else follows: performance, engagement, innovation, and sustainable success. 🔍Check out Chris's insightful article on workplace happiness, (🔗 the comments) and if you're passionate about building and sustaining a positive workplace culture like I am, I highly recommend his transformative books "Good Comes First" and "The Culture Engine." AI is transforming social customer care—but here’s the truth: it can’t do it alone. In her latest post on Thulium, Gage G. breaks down why AI is an incredible tool for efficiency and insights, but human connection is what truly makes customer interactions unforgettable. 🔹 What AI does best: speed, efficiency, and data. 🔹 What humans do best: empathy, nuance, and building trust. The brands that win aren’t just responding to customers; they’re creating experiences, turning moments into relationships. So how do you strike the right balance between AI and human-led engagement? Gage shares 5 things brands can start doing today to level up their social customer care. 💬 How is your brand blending AI with human connection? Some of the most fascinating decisions in hockey happen long before the puck drops. General managers and front offices in the National Hockey League (NHL) are constantly balancing trades, contracts, injuries, and salary caps. With 32 clubs competing at the highest level, even small advantages matter. On the SAP Business Technology Platform's Better Together Podcast, I spoke with Chris Foster, VP Business Development, NHL and AI and automation expert Pascal BORNET about the SAP-NHL Front Office App for iPad, a unified platform that gives clubs instant access to league, team, and player data. What stood out? It’s not just the technology—it’s the mindset. The NHL designed the app for the people using it, removing friction so decision-makers can focus on strategy, not searching for information. It’s a lesson any organization can take to heart: listen to users, simplify processes, and let technology amplify human judgment. 🎧 Hear the full story—link in the comments, and check out the link to Timo Elliott's (VP and Global Innovation Evangelist at SAP) Practitioner Video interview. #ArtificialIntelligence #DigitalTransformation #PodcastHost #NHL

What if your engagement metrics look “good” but aren’t actually doing anything for your business? We’ve reached the final chapter of our engagement series with Gage G., Thulium’s Director of Brand Strategy & Growth—and this one might be the most critical: knowing which metrics actually matter. Every platform measures engagement differently, and if you’re not paying attention, it’s easy to confuse activity with impact. The real power shows up when you can distinguish between numbers that simply look impressive and signals that reflect real momentum—those comments that spark conversations, the saves that indicate lasting value, and the clicks that move someone closer to becoming a customer. When you measure with intention, engagement stops being just a report. It becomes a source of insight, strategic direction, and sustainable growth. If your brand is ready to turn meaningful interactions into measurable business outcomes, our team at Thulium can help you move beyond vanity metrics and build an engaged community that grows with you. What’s one “success metric” you’re questioning right now? *Link to the blog post in the comments. #LinkedInTips #SocialMediaStrategy #B2BMarketing #DigitalEngagement #ThoughtLeadership #SocialMediaStrategy #EngagementMarketing #CommunityBuilding #SocialMediaAnalytics #DigitalMarketing

Engagement isn’t just metrics—it’s meaning. It’s the story someone shares about your brand when you’re not tagged. It’s the connection that happens off-screen—but drives everything that happens on it. In this thoughtful post, Gage G. via Thulium revisits what social media engagement really means—and how it’s evolved into a powerful reflection of human connection in a digital world. A great reminder that the most meaningful engagement doesn’t just move the algorithm—it moves people. Your first impression with a potential buyer doesn’t happen during the pitch anymore—it happens long before you’re in the room. 💻Buyers are researching, connecting dots, and forming opinions in the quiet digital trails you and your brand leave across social. From podcast guest spots to thought leadership to how you show up in the comments—trust is being built (or lost) before you’ve even said hello. The modern B2B buyer is information-hungry, skeptical of fluff, and deeply suspicious of outdated sales tactics. They’re not following a tidy funnel—they’re dancing across LinkedIn posts, Reddit threads, YouTube deep dives, and Instagram reels, deciding who they trust and who they’ll work with. 🤝Content alone won’t cut it. Engagement, authenticity, and consistency are what create familiarity and trust. As Gage G. shares in her latest Thulium article, the real advantage belongs to brands who show up intentionally—before the buyer ever reaches out. 🔗Link to the article in the comments! #SocialMediaMarketing #B2BMarketing #SocialMediaStrategy #B2BStrategy #marketing #BrandStrategy
