Unemployed at 24. $100K saved at 25. Millionaire at 27. Multi-million net worth at 28. I explain exactly how it happened, but you’ll probably keep scrolling. I’m a multi-millionaire now — but I started exactly where many of you are. $50K salary. High cost of living. Trying to save money and enjoy my twenties at the same time. The biggest shift I made? I stopped guessing with my money and started learning. I invested in my financial education. Books, podcasts, videos, questions — all of it. Eventually, I became the “go-to” person in my friend group for money advice. And when my job became toxic, I had the financial stability to leave without another one lined up. That moment changed everything. That was 8 years ago. Today, I’m a multi-millionaire, New York Times bestselling author, and I’ve helped over 5 million women become financially free. And I created the easiest way for you to start. Check the comment for the link and I’ll send you my free 5-step money plan straight to your email.👇

When I started talking about money publicly, people HATED it. Because we’re taught a strange story about money — especially women. That talking about money is rude. That wanting money is greedy. That ambition should be softened with apologies. Meanwhile the financial industry talks about money constantly. Just not in a way most people can understand. When I launched Her First $100K, I wasn’t trying to disrupt finance. I was trying to translate it. I wanted women to understand how investing actually works, why debt feels overwhelming, why money decisions are emotional, not just logical... Because here’s what I’ve learned after teaching millions of women about money: Most people don’t struggle with money because they’re bad at math. They struggle because the system wasn’t designed with them in mind. Financial education is rarely taught in school. Investment language is intentionally complex. And shame keeps people silent. So the mission became simple: Make money conversations normal. Normalize asking questions. Normalize negotiating salaries. Normalize investing without pretending you’re a hedge fund manager. When women understand money, something powerful happens. They leave bad jobs. They leave unhealthy relationships. They start businesses. They invest in themselves. Money becomes a tool instead of a stressor. That’s the work. Not making everyone a millionaire overnight. But helping people realize that financial confidence is something you can learn — and once you have it, no one can take it away from you. ---- If you're new here, I'm a multi-million dollar business owner who teaches over 5 million women how to be better with money. I’m a multi-millionaire now, but it wasn’t always like that. I began my financial journey making $50K a year. While living in one of the 20 most expensive cities in the world, trying to balance saving for my goals with traveling and experiencing life in my twenties. But the smartest thing I did: I invested in my financial education. I asked lots of questions. I watched videos and read books and listened to podcasts. And as I grew my own knowledge, I became the friend that others came to for financial advice. So when I was faced with a toxic work situation, I had enough money to leave without another job lined up. That was 8 years ago. Now? I’m a multi-millionaire and New York Times bestselling author, who has helped over 5 million women build wealth and become financially free. A man just called my advice trash. But the “kiddo” is what really got me. I’ve been called everything from a b*tch to a c*. Been told to kill myself and that no man would ever love me. That I’m a whale and should lose weight. This harassment is a multiple-times-per-day occurrence. In my comments. In my messages. In my email. Men feel *so* threatened by my success — too bad I’m a multi-millionaire, bestselling author who has helped millions of women. Too bad I have sooo much more money and love and support than they’ll ever have. Boo hoo.

We're now facing a ton of bans and restrictions from Meta because I posted a photo of me on vacation in a bathing suit. Men, who were pissed off about our content focused on financial independence for women, flagged it as "sexual solicitation" -- and now, we're hit with a ban that is costing us money and time. And no, this is different than what happened 2 years ago -- when I lost 50,000 followers in 24 hours because I posted a photo of me on vacation in a bathing suit.

Yes, our company offers menstrual leave. Not because it’s “cute” or progressive PR. But because it’s human. Periods can be painful, exhausting, and debilitating. Pretending they don’t affect work is outdated. We build policies around reality, not stigma. Here’s what happens when you do: Your team feels trusted and respected. People stop hiding their pain and start managing their health. Productivity improves because no one is silently suffering through a 2-hour meeting. Menstrual leave isn’t about special treatment. It’s about equal opportunity to do great work—even when your body makes it harder.

For the past week, I was in Costa Rica for an immersive trip learning about climate change, courtesy of TED Countdown. I'm still processing this incredible trip, but my biggest takeaway: Discussing something as serious as climate change makes people either feel like "this is already f*cked there's nothing I can do" or just tune out completely. So rather than hitting them with the facts, give them stories -- not even stories about climate, but true human stories. My favorite part of the trip was meeting Loudres, an indigenous woman who started a women's collective in her local village. By helping local women cultivate their skills in weaving, mask-making, and agriculture -- she was not only helping fund their lives, but stewarding the land. She did not say the words "climate change" once when she told us her story, but in the hours we spent with her, I grew more and more passionate about helping women like her, who have and will continue to be affected by our rapidly changing environment. I care about Loudres, so therefore, I care the earth. Taking care of nature means also taking care of ourselves. Want to make someone give a sh*t? Tell them stories. Let them connect the dots themselves.

I get about 100 "can I work for you" messages every week. 99% of them are bad. While I am very honored that so many people love our mission, culture, and benefits -- and want to be a part of it -- it's a great example of how *not* to send a pitch. "I love what you do and I really want to work for you, I'm at a bad company right now and I've been following you on IG for years, and I'll do anything any role I love you and Her First $100K so much" Not only are you fangirling (while sweet, tells me nothing about how you could add value), you're giving me *nothing*. No actually information. Let me fix it: tell me exactly what your superpower is, and how you'd fix an already existing problem. "I've lead program development for X person, and grew their revenue by Y%. I noticed you don't have a program that is higher ticket (most expensive program is a $497 annual subscription) -- I would love to find a way to join the team to develop, market, and grow a program like the one I grew for X." This works for PR pitches, "pick your brain" requests, or asks of any kind. Make them specific, add immediate value, and solve an existing problem. See the difference?

If you feel apologetic or shy about talking about your business -- If you're worried someone will judge you for sharing your work or pitching for opportunities -- If you're scared about being "too much" -- You will never have a successful business. I know what it's like for women. The expectation that we are grateful for every opportunity, that we shouldn't want or demand more, that we shouldn't be too loud or too needy or too much. F*ck that. If you want your business to be successful, this is what entrepreneurship demands. Straight asks. Loud shouts about your work. Being proud of your accomplishments. Don't let society's expectations for you be the reason your business fails.

I started Financial Feminist with a $99 mic and zero podcasting experience. We launched as the #1 business podcast in the U.S. We beat all the bros. We were the only women-focused show in the top 30. Now? 30M+ downloads. Listeners in 60 countries. And we bought back the show — we’re now entirely independent. Never underestimate what happens when women control the mic and the money. ⸻ If you’re new here, I’m a multi-million dollar business owner who teaches over 5 million women how to be better with money. Menstruation leave is not radical — it’s overdue. I still remember the first time I had to sit through an 8 a.m. meeting with a heating pad on my lap, cramps in full swing, smiling like nothing was wrong. It was… exhausting. When we talk about “bringing your whole self to work,” we rarely talk about bodies. Bodies that need rest. Bodies that don’t always cooperate with the Monday–Friday, 9–5 model. That’s why at Her First $100K, menstruation leave is a thing. It’s paid. It’s encouraged. And it’s not treated like a weakness — it’s treated like what it is: health care. We’ve also built in week-long company shutdowns every quarter, bereavement leave, floating holidays, and more robust parental leave policies than hundreds of billion-dollar companies. When you acknowledge that humans have human needs, you don’t just get loyalty. You get trust. And trust is the most valuable benefit of all.

Leadership isn’t just about building something successful–it’s about helping other people build something successful too. As my career has grown, one of the most meaningful parts of that growth has been mentoring others.  This has been people on my team, people in my circle, and founders I’ve supported along the way. I’ve seen firsthand how guidance, access, and the right conversations at the right time can change someone’s trajectory. Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about sharing what you’ve learned, making introductions, and helping someone see opportunities they might not be able to see yet on their own. That’s why I’m SO excited to be a mentor for the The UPS Store Small Biz Challenge 🎉 This challenge is all about supporting small business owners who are building something real, often with limited time and resources. I’ll be working alongside entrepreneurs to help them think more strategically, avoid costly mistakes, and move forward with clarity and confidence. If you’re a small business owner looking for meaningful mentorship and real support, I encourage you to apply! 👉 Enter The UPS Store Small Biz Challenge: https://lnkd.in/gRrF_BZp

The things rich people do that you would never know about (but now I do) —from a self-made multimillionaire who built wealth starting at $50K When I was broke, I thought rich people just… had more money. Better salaries. Better luck. Better timing. Now that I’m in those rooms? It’s different than you think. Rich people don’t obsess over price. They obsess over return. They ask: Will this make me money, save me time, or reduce stress? They automate everything. Savings. Investing. Bills. So wealth builds whether they’re thinking about money or not. They don’t wait to “feel ready.” They make financial decisions while still uncomfortable. Because speed compounds. They talk about money openly. Deals. Raises. Investments. Losses. Silence keeps people stuck. Information moves people forward. They don’t try to look rich. They try to stay rich. Assets first. Lifestyle second. I saved $100K at 25. Built a multi-million dollar company. Helped 5M+ women learn how to earn, save, and invest. The biggest difference? Rich people don’t wing their money. They have a plan before anything else. Not a perfect plan. Not a complicated plan. A clear one. That’s what changes everything. Check the first comment to get a personalized money plan to your email for free.

things I do as a female CEO that send men into a coma 1. I shut down our company once a quarter to give my employees a paid, collective week off 2. I don’t care where you work from – take a call from a European cafe or school pick up 3. We give our employees paid menstrual leave 4. We give employees free money when they contribute to their 401(k)s 5.We’re a team of all women who support each other’s goals in and outside of work 6.Take time away for a doctor’s visit or to workout midday – no worries here! 7. Unlimited PTO (in addition to our quarterly weeks off) This is the power and impact of female-founded companies – and why we need more women entrepreneurs

Anyone in the middle of a career transition -- listen up! Almost 10 years ago, I met Claire Wasserman for the first time. I don't know if I had ever seen someone speak with such poise and authority. And as the co-founder of Ladies Get Paid -- her company has not only helped hundreds of thousands of women bridge the wage gap and find roles that compensate them well, she's also navigated getting sued by a men's rights group (yes, really) AND being brave enough to leave her hetero marriage and marry her female co-founder (the also kickass Ashley Louise) On today's episode of Financial Feminist, Claire gives powerful, valuable advice on finding a great job, getting fair compensation, and what to do when faced with a career setback. work I’ve gotten done as a multi-millionaire (this post might be controversial but I value transparency) All the work I’ve gotten done is stuff that has made me proud and makes me feel good about myself — I don’t regret any of it. 1. Grew a multi-million dollar business from just $40 2. Helped over 5 million women escape abusive marriages, start businesses, become debt-free, and build their safety nets 3. Wrote every word of a 80,000 word book that became a New York Times bestseller for 8 weeks 4. Spoken on stages all over the world, including the UN, BBC Women, and the Global Women's Forum in Paris 5. Helped women invest over $130 million towards their goals (and rang the Nasdaq opening bell alongside them to celebrate) 6. Recorded over 300 free episodes of Financial Feminist, the #1 money podcast for women in the world 7. Invested in other women-founded and women-focused businesses so I can spread the wealth 8. Built a team culture where we give unlimited PTO, paid menstrual leave, and a one week break/quarter where the company shuts down Fillers, botox, and plastic surgery don't matter to me as much as the work I do every day. We changes women's lives, and I'm so proud of what we've built.

I don't see enough women shouting their wins on here, so allow me to lead by example. My New York Times bestselling book, Financial Feminist, has sold over 350,000 copies. It has been translated into Spanish, Polish, Greek, Korean, and Japanese. It's a Barnes and Noble Book of the Year AND an Amazon Editor's Pick. It has taught women across the world how to harness their financial power to leave abusive marriages, get $50,000 raises, pay off all their debt, and break generational poverty. I'm so proud of my readers, and so proud of the impact we've made.
