We’ve released the Allocator One Annual Alpha Industry Report 2025, launched at the Alpha Summit in London’s KOKO Theatre on Sept 4 before 280 family offices/LPs and a select group of standout GPs. Built on proprietary reviews of 950+ emerging managers across 68 countries (≈80% of the market), the report shows a clear pattern. Why this matters 1) Alpha = edge × execution — now more than ever. Today’s geopolitical, tech, and industrial shifts raise complexity and cross-sectional dispersion. In these regimes, skilled active managers have more room to separate signal from noise and allocate with conviction—via faster diligence, sharper underwriting, decisive follow-ons, and operating playbooks. That’s how alpha helps you navigate complexity and convert insight into outcomes. 2) The alpha gap. Talent in niche/specialized domains remains overlooked; capital hasn’t matched to talent yet—creating mispricing and ownership advantages for those who find and back them early. 3) Scarcity raises the bar. We, along with the 256 Network team, have released the Annual Alpha Asia Report 2025, launched on 11th November 2025 at Alpha Summit Asia in Singapore alongside leading LPs, family offices, and a select group of standout GPs from Asia. From our seat at Allocator One, we track roughly 80% of emerging managers in Asia — which means we see past the headlines into how capital actually moves. This report is our attempt to map that reality. A few patterns stood out: •Asia’s paradox: deals are up, fresh capital is down. New fund formation fell to decade lows and concentrated at the top. Liquidity came from secondaries and buyouts, favoring managers who design exits from day one and turn TVPI into DPI faster than peers. •Policy as purchase order: across India, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, government spend on chips, AI compute, data centers, and energy is creating obvious co-funders, customers, and acquirers. If you’re embedded in these corridors, you’re underwriting named buyers before you wire the first check. •Specialists set the clearing price: the standout managers are operator-led, often sub–$50–100M, obsessively focused on narrow lanes like applied AI, logistics, industrial software, fintech infra, and climate ops.
