Most people don’t realize how incredibly real it is to do something you love, something that you wake up so damn excited for. I wish that for all of you. If you’re a lawyer with five years of experience and you say something I’m seeing in law around IP law and you write four sentences, you make a video, it could pop off and change your life. If you’re an engineer, post about your opinions and observations. If you’re in design, post about your take on the newest trends…document, document, document. It’s important.    In this world, you’re one retweet or share away from transforming your whole career. Written word or video, one piece of content on LinkedIn where you have no followers right now can change the course of your life. Cuz now you have inbound people offering you jobs instead of you sitting and dwelling and hating your job. Majority of you don’t realize the advantage of living in an age where the power to change the world is in your pocket.

Bet on your strengths. It’s an underrated business strategy in a world where so many people are obsessed with fixing their weaknesses. You might need to be "capable enough" in certain things depending on what you do, but focusing too much on what you're bad at is not a good idea.

Why is it worth posting great content on social media every day for your brand or business? Because you don't want to go out of business.

You’ve been given this ridiculous triple miracle. You’re literally more likely to win the lotto 10 times in your life than actually have a life... Think about it: Your mom and dad had sex at the right second and a lot of things went well for you…and their mom and dad had to meet and mate, and their parents, and their parents, and so on, back thousands of generations. I ask you, my friends, with this one life… you’re going to sit on your couch and dwell? You’re going to be upset about some shortcoming? You’re going to be upset about that thing that happened last week that f*cked you up? I’m asking you. I’m promising you. Please, take this swing. Make this at bat.

The term "toxic positivity" fascinates me. I have empathy for those who use that phrase, but I also want to share one man’s point of view on it here below. The concept that there is even an ability to be “toxically positive” is a misunderstanding of “positive.” What people are really trying to say is “delusion.” Instead of weaponizing the term, stop saying “toxic positivity” and start saying delusional, which is what it really means. For me, all I talk about is practical truths. All I believe in is accountability. The market is always right. But I also believe life is how you see it. I believe if you wake up and everyone you care about is healthy, it’s a great day. Optimism is defined as the “hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.” I think that’s practical. You can be optimistic while acknowledging where there’s adversity, or while having compassion for yourself when you’re having an off day. Optimism is about being thrilled about your next at-bat, while acknowledging you’re not guaranteed to hit a home run. Whereas delusion sits, to me, like you just sit on your couch, hold your breath, cross your fingers, and hope it’s going to be okay with no action. It’s sad to me that people confuse positivity with delusion. There’s a reason two different words exist.

It's never too late to start over.

Go after your dreams. Pursue that side hustle. Friends, jobs will be there if you fail. And I know they're telling you that AI is going to take all the jobs. AI is not going to take all the jobs. People that know how to use AI are going to take jobs. So jump, and then work on learning AI. You are in control, got it? That's it, my friends. You are in control. Not the new mayor, not the old governor, not this president, not the last president, not the next president, not your mommy, not your daddy, not your spouse—not your husband, not your wife—not your brother, not your boss... you are in control. Five words that will fundamentally change your life: YOU ARE IN CONTROL. No more complaining. No more crying. Stop it. Complaining and excuses are poison, and they're addicting. They're the heroin of emotions. Don't be a "wa-wa". You are in control. You got a crappy job? That's on you. You took it, and you're staying in it. "But Gary, I've got bills!" Figure out how to make money elsewhere. Get another job. There are a million ways to make money today. Is there more opportunity, or is it harder than ever? It's easier than ever. We have the most concentrated wealth of 16- to 26-year-olds in the history of time because of social media. The second you realize you are in control, that’s when everything changes.

I was very affected by both of my parents losing a parent early in their lives. My mom, who had a very difficult life in the Soviet Union, lost her mom at age 5. My dad lost his dad at age 15. It kind of shaped my whole childhood. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I had a lot of fear of them getting sick or dying. That’s what I think about every day, so I struggle with people squandering this miracle — this improbable reality of being a human. Too many people just focus on all of the dumbest shit and dig deep insecurity tunnels, instead of focusing on things and opportunities that matter.

MY FRIENDS, YOU WANT BIG THINGS … that shit takes time and is hard … it’s supposed to be … enough complaining .. shut your mouth and let’s get to work!!!

The journey to self-awareness is about being willing to be super honest with yourself about who you are, even when nobody’s watching. ... be grateful for what is going well, and realize what you can and can’t control.

Quit your f*cking job. If you don’t like it, if you don’t feel valued or validated, be a f*cking big girl or big boy and f*cking quit. Live on LinkedIn until you get a new job. And if you're the boss .. start firing *ssholes, no matter how much money they make for you. The #1 flaw that a lot of people have in their company right now is their biggest money maker is also their biggest *sshole, and they're letting them get away with it because of the money making. That's creating massive cancer internally within organizations right now. but I promise you this .. There’s nothing better than firing somebody who’s cancerous for your culture.

Want to know how to make money outside your 9-5? This is for you.. There’s not a single person under 20 whose #1 goal in life is not to be an influencer with 1 million followers .. but the reality is I think a lot of those people will never get to be that... But of those people, a shocking percentage–call it 5-15%--can actually make 6 figures a year selling sh*t out of their living rooms.. and that’s a lot more fun than having a job paying you $75K a year that you f*cking hate.. My friends, live social shopping is going to explode .. it will be massive in America.. and I think everyone who’s reading this and wants to make extra money should learn about it.

Most people on earth 35 to 65 continue to blame their parents for what hasn't worked out. And what I'm saying to them is, hey, it's time to let that go and ask yourself, what are you going to do about it?

You never know what's going on in someone else's life ❤️

Positivity is a requirement, hope matters, joy matters, love matters .. you can’t win without it .. that said delusion is always dangerous and almost always leads to a “loss” .. but let’s stop coming up with new words which only leads to confusing a generation. I’ll always fight for positivity .. especially the practical positivity I live in ❤️❤️❤️❤️

People say “winners never quit and quitters never win.” Actually, I think there’s a great argument for quitting the shit you’re not good at, or the shit you just downright hate. For many people, it’s their boring, unexciting, dead-end job. This is not me bashing 9-to-5 jobs. In fact, I think they get a bad rep. If you’ve found a place that you love going to every day where the culture is exciting, the people are warm and welcoming, and you have a great work-life balance, you’ve struck gold. That’s exactly what I’m working to build within VaynerMedia. If that isn’t the case, however, you need to ask yourself why you’re staying in a situation where you’re unhappy and give yourself permission to quit. Quitting is only taboo because people have their priorities screwed up. Too many people think they can’t quit only because they need their job to pay for dumb stuff to impress people they don’t even like. When you stop living based on other people’s opinions, you start to see that quitting can actually be a strategic move. Worst case scenario, you disappoint some people or you regret your decision. The good news is you can always get another job. Stop looking for permission from mom, dad, your partner, society, or people on social media and go live the life you want. If it means less money now for more happiness later, so be it. Why are you not willing to take one step backwards to take a step forward for the rest of your life?

Here's the key to marketing in 2026: social organic, multiple accounts, many times a day:

I hate firing employees. It’s the toughest thing to do when running a business. So when I have to do it, I do my best to make it feel like a liberation rather than a punishment. Because that’s what it is most of the time. If someone gets let go at VaynerMedia, it could be for a variety of reasons. They might not be fast enough to keep up with the pace of execution. They might not be good at managing people and that’s what they were hired to do. It could just be that we made a mistake and put them in the wrong position. They might just hate their boss, and it shows in performance. I’m super willing to help my employees transition out of my company into another role where they could be successful for one main reason: I’m more interested in how I feel about myself and what those who know me say about me as a man than the profitability of my company. It’s why I try really hard to keep strong relationships with my employees, even after they leave or get let go. It’s why I aim to deliver 51% of the value of that relationship. People always talk about why employees shouldn’t burn bridges with employers, but not many people talk about the reverse of that. Not many people talk about employers keeping relationships with employees even after they let them go. It’s also just practical when running a business.

Everyone gets stressed about work sometimes, but how do you know when it’s truly time to quit? In my opinion, it’s always a good idea to quit your job when you are genuinely unhappy. If you’ve gone months where you’re dreading going into work every day, that means something’s not right. Sustained unhappiness is not something to accept or endure — you don’t win any prizes for making yourself miserable. You only get one life! Consider what you’re really giving up by staying in that job — your time, your energy, and your life. Each of these is a much more valuable asset than money. Of course, I understand that people have bills and responsibilities; I’m not arguing that money isn’t important. However, there are too many people keeping terrible jobs just so they can drive a luxury car, have a designer wardrobe, or take a first-class trip. The truth is, none of that is worth trading the chance to be truly fulfilled. Money is never a good enough reason to hate your life Monday through Friday.

This is a post to remind those who think money is gonna solve the hurt inside - money is amazing for many practical things in life & creates opportunities however .. if your soul is hurting .. you’ll need another plan ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stop using "personal touch" as an excuse to stay small. If you want to build a $100M company, you have to get off the ego train. Scaling a service-based business is terrifying when it's built on your personal quality and trust. But if you believe you’re the only one who can do the job, you don't have a scalable business...you just have a job. Many people can do what you do if you give them the chance. If it doesn't work out, you can move on and fire them. But you gotta try to scale. Stop being scared, stop beating around the bush, and start building.

Can you make a living from a hobby or your passion? The opportunity for someone right now to make a living talking about and creating around something like Beetlejuice or Tron or The Powerpuff Girls or snow globes or skateboarding is just too too real … use this spring to chase your dreams 💭 ❣️ Social is the primary way people consume content and thus the biggest business brand and sales opportunities sit on these 6-10 platforms. Humans continue to underestimate the shear amazingness that free organic reach is … please double down on social content in 2026 (and beyond) for the ones who are ambitious and hungry!

I think one of the biggest issues in the world right now is kids are getting grown too late. If you take money from your parents and you're over the age of 22, get their names out of your f*cking mouth in any negative form.

Winners win. Winners show up time, stay humble, grind, never get too caught up in who they are...winners want the ball in their hands with three seconds left. They're up for that challenge, the responsibility, all of it...

A little boost of motivation … kindness, work ethic, patience, perspective .. and most of all .. self acceptance and love and now tune it all out and attack!! Life!!

It's OK to care a lot. It's OK for a little kid to cry after losing.

A lot of people are demonizing AI. They're scared of it. But it’s not scary. It’s electricity. History time, friends. Electricity was demonized by almost everybody in the world when it was first invented. Everyone was scared. New things scare people...people were scared of the phone, people were scared of beepers, people were scared of television, people were scared of the fax machine, and people were even scared of the typewriter and the printing press! There will be more growth in digital global AI and social media in 2026 than there is in local culture, but it’s an "and" thing. Local culture will continue to grow because we’re going digital. Analog will also keep growing because we're so digital. Both can be true. Don’t be scared of the future, friends. Embrace it.

Stop overthinking...it's driving you crazy
