⬇️ ⬇️ By now most of you have heard the news about CBS News Radio shuttering after nearly 100 years in existence. Reaction was swift and strong across the industry and around the world. CBS News Radio is a generational operation that many of the standards of full-on broadcast news were actually built upon...and I'm incredibly proud and humbled to have been a part of that even for a short time. People have been asking me "Why. How did this happen?" - You can deep dive into the myriad of reasons out there. You have your choice of sources, and for me that's where the real rub is. Yes, the landscape is vastly changing with the rise of content creators, AI and information providers. We ALL need to adjust, adapt. But lets be clear: Be careful of what kind of "creators" you get that information from. Speaking from a journalistic standpoint - the caution flag needs to be up high, as certain "creators" have no guardrails when it comes to the deep rigor of producing a quality, relevant, accurate and informative product put out on the daily that CBS and other networks offer. More importantly...scenarios like this erode CHOICE and that's terrible for everyone. I want to thank Jennifer Brown, Amy Bolton Dustin Gervais and Heather Cohen for bringing me on board to build a product that was fun, entertaining, relevant and had a growing base of affiliates!
