I’m happy to announce that, together with Piera Riccio, Benedikt (Ben) Höltgen, Olivia Lopez Calderon, Monique Munarini, Corinna Canali, Shirley Ogolla and Nuria Oliver, PhD, we are organizing the workshop
“Between and Beyond: Designing for Identity Complexity in HCI” at ACM CHI 2026, in Barcelona 🇪🇸, developed in collaboration with Skin Mutts, a Brussels-based independent cultural platform exploring hybrid identities through visual languages and community practices.
We welcome submissions from researchers, designers, and practitioners across HCI engaging with questions of identity, inclusion, and justice. Contributions may take the form of a short reflection (2–4 pages, ACM single-column format) on a past or ongoing project related to the workshop themes, or alternative formats such as images, websites, videos, or performances. Submissions should explicitly reflect on how the work engages with categorical framings in HCI.
📆 Submission deadline: Thursday, 12 February 2026 (EXTENDED: Feb 23)
📧 Submit material to: betweenbeyond@outlook.com
