On July 26th we will be throwing our first big event to raise funding for two nonprofits I founded in Taking Ownership PDX and PDX Housing Solidarity Project. Both were founded during the pandemic and have had limited resources so we weren’t able to put something together in the past. Thankfully we have had some major investments this past year that have put us in a position to put a really dope event together!
We will have live music from legendary Portland bands, a legendary local DJ, a comedian hosting, BIPOC led vendors in booths, activities for all ages from bouncy houses to corn hole, a silent auction, several bars and nonalcoholic options, and food and ice cream carts. It’s at a beautiful event space called The Redd on Salmon!
This one is important to me and I really hope the community shows up for it. Having a dope community event for our very first one is most important to us, even if we don’t raise a ton of funds for our housing justice programs. I’ll be inviting each and every one of you that follow me on here and would appreciate it if you invited your people. I’ll post the event page in the comments.
Hope to see you all there!!
