Did you know that Bosch has been building production equipment for over 30 years – with more than 4000 assembly lines operating worldwide today?
I recently visited our colleagues at Bosch Manufacturing Solutions | BMG to see their work in battery manufacturing. For years, BMG has been Bosch's internal supplier, building production lines for our own factories. Now, they're bringing this experience to customers navigating one of manufacturing's toughest challenges: scaling battery production efficiently and quickly.
Seeing the team work on a current customer project, a few things really stood out – especially for anyone facing similar industrialization challenges:
1) Digital twins make a real difference – BMG uses them intensively for design calibration and optimization, helping customers improve efficiency and significantly reduce time-to-market.
2) Start early, scale better – involving manufacturing expertise from the product engineering phase onwards creates more robust, scalable solutions and avoids costly changes later.
3) Global capabilities, local support – 9 locations worldwide with ~1,700 experts mean customers get both proven global standards and hands-on regional expertise.
What impressed me most wasn't just the sophisticated technology on the production floor, but the people behind it and their genuine commitment to customer success. In a field where speed and precision matter enormously, that partnership approach makes all the difference.
