This only happens about 3 times every 28 years. Here's some Friday fun. It’s the first of two consecutive Friday the 13ths. Did you know March 13 is a Friday, too? Today’s date 2/13/26 also works as an equation, where 2 x 13 = 26. That’s called a “magic date,” and it occurs a few times per year on average. I love a little bit of magic. Tell me some sales magic that happened this week. After a bit of a dry spell, I put out 4 proposals already this month.

A huge milestone in women's health. This makes me so happy. After suffering through menopause while trying to drive revenue at my company, it's about time we are not just talking about women's health but doing something. Today Midi Health is announcing a $100M round of funding, led by Goodwater Capital. This all female founding team has shown that women's health is not only critical but worth investing in. Midi Health is the first "menopausal unicorn". 🦄 Yes, it's true and that is worth celebrationg 🥳 When women get access to funding, they create incredible things!! Midi Health is taking care of more than 25K women per week offering specialized care that is covered by insurance. Whaaat!! No way, but yes. A huge thank you to the Midi Health co-founders who have made something important happen for women and showed the business community that we are a force. Cheers 🥂 to Sharon Meers, Jill Herzig, Kathleen Jordan, MD, Mindy Goldman and Joanna Strober.

Why does it matter? It matters that we celebrate women who are doing what they do to start, lead and grow companies while taking care of children, elderly parents, running a household, going through hormonal changes and trying to take care of themselves, because that is a huge feat. It deserves notice. It deserves applause. It deserves support. Together we can lift each other up and that is what WBENC helps us do. Yesterday afternoon our event was a tremendous success. Men and women came out to support the women in our community that own businesses. Hearing our panel of WBEs, Sandra James, Relina DeDios-Shirley and Laurie Yarborough share their successes as well as their challenges impacted and inspired our audience. There definitely were some reoccurring themes. 1. None of them grew up, thinking they would become an entrepreneur. But yet here they are. 2. Success doesn’t come easy. They all had to work at it. They all made mistakes. They all took risks. 3. They were all self-funded (or with some loans). That means they had to make their money by selling and they all did. 4. Customer focus was key to their success. 5. Juggling family and their business was easier sometimes than others. 6. They didn't always have the support of their families but they do now. As business owners, sometimes we feel very alone. But getting together with other women and hearing their stories and sharing, motivates all of us and helps us know that we can really help each other. I’m so grateful to you and LaSandra Hunt and Cindy Buchanan for all the support personally and for the support from JPMorganChase and especially for the delicious chocolates in branded bamboo sleeves. Thank you to the Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce for the space. This is such a great community with so many strong female business owners, and we need to get the word out that there are many resources for them. I’m grateful to be part of the team along with Kelly Spallone and Monica Coburn backed by our leader from Women's Business Enterprise Council West (WBEC-West) Vasanti Kumar. If you are interested in becoming a certified woman-owned business, DM me. Watch for information on our next event May 27th. If you are interested in selling to big companies you'll want to attend, Pitch to Win: How to Secure Contracts, Opportunities & Close Bigger Deals.

Is your team is losing more deals or hearing “no decision” too often? I’ve been doing win/loss reviews with my clients, and some patterns are too clear to ignore. 🪄 The more you know, the more you win! In deals that closed, sellers knew more than five buying influencers. In losses, they knew about two. We call that multi-threading, but really it just means knowing everyone who matters. If your sellers do not, the odds are already against them. 🪄 No decision is still a decision More deals are ending with no decision. Buyers are exhausted. They have compared too many options, read too many AI-generated suggestions, and now everything looks the same. When they do not feel confident, they freeze. They stick with the pain they know instead of the change they do not. 🪄 Dump the BANT discovery Ghosting after discovery calls is out of control. Sellers tell me, “They were so engaged!” Then nothing. Buyers were interested, but the discovery call did not teach them anything new. It did not add value or show insight. So they went cold. Want to stop the ghosting? Make your discovery call the one meeting that actually helps them think differently. Always agree on a clear next step. 💥 What sellers need to know now The best sellers today know: What a day in the life of their buyer looks like What insights bring real value How to guide a team to consensus How to build buyer confidence Here is the truth. Most buyers do not know how to buy from you. This may be their first time buying a solution like yours. They might not even know how to get it approved internally. Your sellers’ job is to guide them through it. Share examples, insights, and stories from other companies that made similar decisions. Those sticking to outdated methods are losing deals. Those meeting customers where they are and bringing useful insights are winning. If you are the CEO, ask your leaders: ✅ Is our ICP still aligned with our best-fit customers? ✅ Are our personas actually involved in recent wins? ✅ Has our customer journey changed? ✅ Does our discovery process impress or bore buyers? AI has changed the way buyers buy. Has it changed the way your sellers sell? Use AI to learn and prepare, but let it make your team more human, not less. Your turn: What are you seeing in your own win/loss reviews right now? Where are your sellers getting stuck: multi-threading, no decision, or discovery? If this resonates, share it with a CEO or sales leader who needs to see it. 🪄 I'm Alice Heiman and I help CEOs drive revenue the easy way.

In a world where female founders are getting less than 2% of the investment, we must figure out ways to change that. Together we can make a difference. It's why we are known as the #biggestlittlecity. We can support female founders in a big way. These founders were selected as finalists by Ania Calvillo-Mason, MBA and her team. 💰 One will be the recipient of $10,000. 💰 If you are in the area or even if you're not and you want to support this, we welcome you. The tickets are $100 and we need to sell 100 of them. There are about 30 left. Let's support these female founders. See you at the event. Your community and network are powerful for many reasons, and in sales they are essential, but most don't build or use them wisely.   What??? Volume isn't the answer, even in the early days.   Jared Robin made a post that I commented on and then I decided I had more to say about it, so I'm making this post. (see comments for his post)   Using your network to get introductions to those you want to meet is so easy compared to cold outreach and yet leaders still insist that the majority of sales work is cold outreach even though it delivers few results. Worse, most reps don't even think of it. They do it the hard way.   Leaders help your salespeople build and nurture their network. Have them join communities and be useful.   Why? So they can leverage that network.   Leaders, open the doors for you salespeople.   I mean, why wouldn't you?   Your advisory boards should open doors too.   Teach salespeople to build a network that they can rely on for introductions.   Insist that part of their work every day has to be building and leveraging that network and asking for introductions. That means that they have to be taught to build relationships and be helpful. Not just take.   Customers can be your community. They are a network.   Make sure that customers are supremely happy so that salespeople can go back to them and ask them for introductions.   Insist that everyone in the company looks through their network to see where they could make introductions.   Why is this concept so hard for leaders? I just don’t get it 🤔   I know you don't sit around and think, "let's make selling as hard as possible for our salespeople."   And yet, that is what so many do.   I know that companies think that in order to scale they need tremendous volume, but that volume is not delivering the results that are needed.   There are better ways. Do an A/B test if you don't believe me.   Rather than volume, highly target and then watch for signals, send great messages and get introductions rather than reaching out cold.   I know most companies aren't set up to do this but it can be done in tandem with cold outreach until it becomes part of your daily routine.   You can see for yourself that the close ratio will be much higher on leads that come from watching signals and getting an introduction than your cold outreach and soon you won't need the volume. 🌿 I'm Alice Heiman and I'm all about uncomplicating sales and making it easy for your sellers to sell and your buyers to buy. I'm here if you need help.

Women in Sales is proud to announce we are a Community Partner for Lori Richardson's The Sales Decades Project event! Taking place April 22-23 in Dallas, this event honors the trailblazing women in B2B sales ❤️ Hear more about The Sales Decades Project below ⬇️ "While women remain underrepresented in B2B sales leadership, the role models we seek have actually been here all along. Many of the most successful careers in sales, leadership, and the C-suite began in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of these women are still leading today, while others have stepped away or passed on, leaving their stories untold to the next generation. The Sales Decades Project was created to change that. Through a series of video interviews and this flagship live event, we're uncovering the legacies of these pioneers. Through this, we hope to bridge the gap between the legends of the past, and the leaders of tomorrow." Early bird pricing ends February 14th, so be sure to secure your ticket soon! https://lnkd.in/gCbefQkn
