April 20th Good News Update:
Really happy to see this come full circle. Two former colleagues from Juniper Networks connected through this post, and Michael Hughes, MSM has now started in this role at Thomson Reuters. (After a 183 day search with 342 applications)
This is exactly what strong communities and networks are about, especially in times like these when many people are navigating job searches. It's tough out there with AI written job posts and re-posts, AI written resumes, AI resume reviewing and AI rejection emails, Let’s keep opening doors for one another and keep the human element alive.
For anyone still exploring opportunities, keep putting yourself out there and supporting others along the way. You never know which conversation or post might lead to the right fit.
Most importantly, believe in your value, don’t let a job description or checklist hold you back. Focus on showing why you’re the right person for the role. This is a great example here, what initially seemed like a hurdle with the in office requirement being in a location that could not be fulfilled, it turned into an opportunity with the right encouragement (thanks Jane Burke) and persistence.
