Your current morning routine might be holding you back from your goals… Because, as James Clear says, “You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” Your morning routine is the system that lays the groundwork for the rest of the day. It’s the system that… Gives you time to exercise before work… or gives you time to doomscroll. Gives you time to work on your side hustle… or lets you sleep through your alarm. Sets you up to feel energized for the day… or has you crashing by noon. So the next time your alarm goes off, you hit snooze six times, you skip breakfast, and rush out the door only to be late for work for the tenth time this month… ask yourself if that system is getting you any closer to achieving your goals. If you want the 6 easy steps to start your day right, backed by insights, research, and tools to help you break free from destructive patterns, listen to this episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast: 🎧 "Try It For 1 Day: Do This Every Morning to Boost Motivation & Focus” - tune in on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eNGJ5NfG You can also listen on Apple Podcasts or YouTube - just search “Mel Robbins Boost Motivation”

What do you do when life doesn’t go your way? The layoff. The breakup. The injury. The diagnosis. When plans you made, goals you had, versions of your future, or even your whole IDENTITY get thrown out the window. When making lemonade out of lemons is way easier said than done. Because when everything changes, it’s not just your circumstances that get shaken - it’s your sense of who you are and what’s possible for your life. That’s why I recently spoke to a world-renowned cognitive scientist who, for the last four years, has been researching people who have gone through a major life change - how they navigate it and how they move forward from it. She’s also lived it! She spent the majority of her life - since she was a child - working toward a career she was passionate about. But then an injury forced her to put that dream to rest and rebuild her life from scratch. In tomorrow’s newsletter, I’m sharing this conversation with you - and it’s one you’re going to want in your inbox. You’ll learn: Why your brain spirals during change (and how to stop it); How to rebuild your identity when the old one isn’t possible anymore; The simple mindset shift that helps you believe in your future again; And practical tools that can help you move forward - even when you don’t feel ready. If you’re going through a massive change right now - or you know you will at some point - the tools this expert shares will help you learn how to use this change as a way to evolve and regain control of your life. If you join my newsletter today, you’ll get it in your inbox first thing tomorrow morning (and you’ll find out who the expert is - I’m hugging her in this picture!! You might already know her…): https://lnkd.in/ek_8wyaX

First two shows of this year's Let Them tour down, many more to go!! I started in New Zealand on Friday, and here I am starting day 2 in Australia. I love being onstage and I LOVE getting to meet you in person. But let me tell you: One-to-two-years-ago Mel would not have been handling this well; being in all these different countries, my body clock being completely out of whack, and having lots of late nights would have absolutely wrecked my energy the next day. But honestly… even when I wasn’t on tour, when I was at home, and my schedule was relatively normal, I would wake up most mornings feeling this way. Just SO tired - no matter how much sleep I got. And if that sounds familiar, I told myself the same thing you’re probably telling yourself right now: “This is just what a full life feels like.” But the truth is - feeling constantly exhausted isn’t normal. It’s a signal. That’s why I love this breakdown that Dr. Amy Shah just published on Pure Genius Protein ’s blog (reviewed by Dr. Eric Trexler). She’s Harvard-trained, double board-certified, a Mel Robbins Podcast fan-favorite, and someone I deeply trust. She shares 5 simple, science-backed shifts that can completely change the quality of the energy you wake up with in the morning. None of this is complicated. And they’re all shifts you can make immediately. And there’s a good chance you’re not doing any of these things. I wasn’t for a long time! But in preparation for this tour, I made sure to double down on these habits so I’m energized and focused for every single show. The one that’s had the most impact on my life is #2. Total game-changer - especially for the next two months while I’m going from time zone to time zone. If you’ve been feeling constantly exhausted, foggy, or like you’re running on fumes… starting with even just ONE of these will help. Dr. Shah broke it all down for you here: https://lnkd.in/e8GnSYt5 And let me know in the comments: did any of these tips surprise you??

You’re wasting an enormous amount of energy trying to make everyone else understand your choices. Your career decisions. Your goals. The risks you’re taking. The changes you’re making in your life. You explain it one way, then another - hoping that if you just say it right, people will finally get it. And a lot of the time, the people who question your changes the most are the people closest to you. Not because they don’t love you, but because they’re trying to make sense of your choices through THEIR lens - their fears, their experiences, their limits. It’s okay to want them to understand. It hurts when they don’t! That’s why you explain and explain and explain your decision - because you’re trying to alleviate the pain you feel when someone questions, judges, or criticizes you. Because it feels like rejection. But you’re not responsible for managing their understanding. The only person your decisions need to make sense to is you. So if you’re building something new, pivoting in your career, taking a leap, or choosing a path that doesn’t look like everyone else’s… Stop spending your energy explaining your life, and put that energy into living it.

If you’ve ever wondered how on EARTH you landed a competitive role, or how you got the promotion, responsibility, or the recognition you always dreamed of but never thought you deserved… Stop saying you got lucky. That’s not what happened. You just worked really hard - and you earned it. To be clear - there’s a big difference between luck and fortune. Fortune is where you’re born, the circumstances you’re dealing with, and everything that is out of your control. And you can and should acknowledge where fortune has either been headwinds, or wind in your sails. But through the choices you made, the chances you took, and the opportunities you stayed open to, you created outcomes that never would’ve happened if you hadn’t shown up the way you did. THAT’S luck. I learned about this from Tina Seelig - the incredible Stanford professor whose episode on The Mel Robbins Podcast is dropping soon. On a day like today where everyone talks about luck, this quote from Adunola Adeshola came to mind. So today, as you celebrate the luck in your life, I also want you to take a second to celebrate your effort - because that’s really the source of your “luck.”

Before you purchase wearable technology… listen to this. Caitlin Sarian, award-winning cybersecurity expert educating millions online as Cybersecurity Girl, is warning you about the real risks behind wearable tech. Her message isn’t “throw your devices away.” It’s this: every app and device is a trade-off. And the question is - do you know what information those devices are collecting, why they’re collecting it, and who they’re sharing it with? Your sleep data. Your fertility tracking. Your heart rate. Your stress levels. That’s not just information - it’s an incredibly detailed story about you. Procrastinating is actually a sign that the work matters to you. According to bestselling author Seth Godin 🌔 - the “godfather of modern marketing” whose work I’ve admired for nearly two decades - procrastination and resistance are not your enemies. They are a signal. Resistance points you directly to the work that matters most - because if it didn’t matter… you wouldn’t feel resistance at all. And once you hear Seth explain what resistance actually means, you’ll stop seeing it as a warning to quit, and start seeing it as a sign you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Reminder: your loudest, most persistent critics are usually the people who feel threatened by your drive, your effort, your confidence, or your progress. The only people who get to critique you are the ones doing - or who’ve done - what you’re trying to do. So if someone doesn’t understand what it takes, don’t take their advice.

Some days start with a sputter rather than a roar - you wake up late, your inbox is chaos, traffic is worse than usual, your boss is already in one of their “moods.” And before you know it, your brain has decided: “Today is going to be a bad day.” But the truth is - the chaotic inbox, heavy traffic, and moody boss aren’t what will make your day bad. A bad day usually starts with a micro choice - the moment you decide what the story of your day is going to be. Your brain is constantly looking for evidence to prove you right. So if you decide it’s going to be a bad day, it’ll find proof everywhere. But you can flip the script in seconds. On your way into the office, or as you’re sifting through your inbox in the morning, say to yourself: “Today is going to be a good day.” Prime your brain to look for THAT proof. Things might still go wrong. The day might still feel stressful. But you get to choose your mindset. So bring the good energy. Bring the positive attitude. Bring the boundaries so the stupid stuff doesn’t drain you. That one tiny decision can change how you show up to every meeting, conversation, and challenge today. It can change the energy you come home with at the end of the day. It can be the difference between going to bed feeling bitter and drained, and going to bed feeling excited to wake up tomorrow. There are 3 other powerful micro choices that can completely change how your day goes. I walk you through them in one of the newest episodes of The Mel Robbins Podcast: “Try It For 1 Day: 4 Small Choices That Make a Surprisingly Huge Difference” - I’ll link it in the comments.

You don’t even realize it - but before you get out of bed, you’ve already made a choice that can hijack your entire day. You reached for your phone. I get it… You want to stay informed. You need to check that email. You say you’re just going to scroll for a little bit. But it only takes 30 seconds for your nervous system to light up, your dopamine to drain, and now you’re carrying the weight of the world… all while still being in your pajamas. Harvard-trained psychiatrist Dr. Alok Kanojia MD MPH says your brain is like a lemon filled with dopamine, and scrolling as soon as you wake up is a "hard squeeze” that drains the juice you need for the rest of the day. That tiny micro choice to grab your phone first thing in the morning? It burns the exact mental fuel you need to feel focused, motivated, and patient all day long. By the end of this episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, you’ll know exactly what to do whenever you need a reset - from the moment you wake up, throughout the day when your patience and energy wear thin, to bedtime when your brain won’t shut off. 🎧 “Try It For 1 Day: 4 Small Choices That Make a Surprisingly Huge Difference” - tune in now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube - search ‘The Mel Robbins Podcast Small Choices.’ I’ll also link it in the comments.

This is why change feels so overwhelming when you’re in the thick of it… According to cognitive scientist and expert on change, Dr. Maya Shankar, your brain is wired to zoom in on what’s going wrong and block you from seeing all the good in your life. That’s why change feels so overwhelming. Divorce. Loss. Diagnosis. You just can’t see past it. But Dr. Shankar has the key to help you see through it… First, take the time to feel what you need to feel. And when you’re ready, remember that you are more than the worst thing happening to you. There are still parts of your life that are whole. Still parts of you that are strong. Still parts that matter. And when you force yourself to name them, something changes. You don’t erase the pain - but you stop losing yourself inside it. If you’re reading this from the toilet…stop bringing your phone into the bathroom! I can’t believe this is real… Dr. Trisha Pasricha, a Harvard Medical School physician-scientist and gastroenterologist, found that people who take their smartphones into the bathroom are 5x more likely to sit longer than 5 minutes. And they had a 46% increased risk of hemorrhoids. Why? When you sit on the toilet, there’s no pelvic floor support (which increases your risk of hemorrhoids). The longer you scroll, the longer you sit. And that pressure builds over time. Here’s the rule: If it doesn’t happen in 5 minutes - get up, walk around, and try again later. For decades, women were told this life-saving treatment was dangerous… It’s not. According to Dr. Rachel Rubin, one of the leading experts in women’s sexual health: Vaginal estrogen products carried warning labels claiming they caused things like strokes, blood clots, heart attacks, and dementia. Those warnings were wrong. Completely wrong. And because of those labels, countless women were too scared to use treatments that could’ve dramatically improved - and even saved - their lives. After years of advocacy from today’s guest on The Mel Robbins Podcast, the FDA finally removed those warning labels. Which means these treatments were always safe - and for many women, they are life-changing. In today’s episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, Dr. Rubin is sharing the truth about women’s health that most people, including doctors, were never taught. The appointments you need to schedule, the calls you keep putting off, the prescriptions you need to refill, the errands you never seem to have time for… want to know why that stuff always feels overwhelming? You’re trying to squeeze it in between everything else. So here’s the fix: Life Admin Day. And the first thing you need to do on your Life Admin Day is sit down, and make those scheduling phone calls. Haircuts. Eye exams. Dentist appointments. Doctor visits. Work from head to toe. And while you’re at it, schedule not just the upcoming appointment, but the NEXT one too - so future-you is already taken care of. Then move on to everything else you’ve been avoiding. The fastest way to stop feeling behind is simple: stop carrying it in your head and start putting it in your calendar. The thing stressing you out right now falls into one of two categories: A problem… or a situation. And this comes from someone whose work has influenced me for almost two decades - bestselling author and one of my biggest business heroes, Seth Godin 🌔 . A situation is something you can’t change - the laws of physics, other people’s decisions, certain circumstances in your life. There’s no solution. Only acceptance. But a problem has a solution… You just might not like it. It might mean having the hard conversation, telling the truth, or doing the thing you’ve been avoiding. In today’s episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, Seth explains how recognizing the difference between a problem and a situation can completely change how you move forward in life. I’m angry that I didn’t know this sooner. And I’m even angrier that every woman I know and love has been walking around not knowing it either… For YEARS in my 20s, I dealt with recurring UTIs. They eventually died down, but 30 years later… Boom. Menopause hit. The UTIs came back. I assumed it was hygiene, or something I was doing wrong, or just “one of those things” women have to live with. Nope. Dr. Rachel Rubin , a urologist and sexual health expert, came on The Mel Robbins Podcast and dropped a truth bomb that explains SO much: Hormonal changes - at any age - can be a major driver of UTIs. When my recurring UTIs came back later in life, it didn’t even occur to me that it was because of the hormonal changes I’m dealing with in menopause. I thought it was just aging! But it’s not just menopause. Postpartum, breastfeeding, birth control, acne meds…anything that affects your hormones can impact your urinary and pelvic health. And this is the part that really blew my mind as I spoke with Dr. Rubin: Most women have never been told this. And even worse? There’s a safe, simple, effective, inexpensive treatment that can reduce UTIs by MORE THAN 50%. Yet millions of women don’t know to ask about it. Why? Because decades of fear and misinformation around hormone therapy made a lot of doctors hesitant to prescribe even the safest options - including the ones Dr. Rubin told me about, which I talk about in this piece. We need to scream about this from the rooftops!! Because UTIs aren’t just annoying. They can turn into kidney infections, sepsis, or worse. So if you’re a woman, if you love a woman, if you take care of a woman, please read and share this. This is how women can get the care they deserve. Thank you Women's Health for helping Dr. Rubin and me get this information in front of more women. That “me time” you take at the end of a long day by scrolling in bed? It’s called revenge bedtime procrastination. And it’s not doing you any favors. All day long, you answered to other people. Emails. DMs. Kids. Work. Responsibilities. So at night, you steal a little time back while scrolling on your phone. Here’s the problem: Scrolling at night suppresses melatonin - the hormone that helps you sleep - and tells your nervous system to stay alert. That’s why you feel exhausted, but your brain won’t shut off. If you want tomorrow to feel better, make this micro choice: Tuck your phone in 30 minutes before you tuck yourself in. In a recent episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, I broke down the 4 simple choices you can make starting today that will allow you to take back your power, time, energy, and peace. “Try It For 1 Day: 4 Small Choices That Make a Surprisingly Huge Difference” - tune in now on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e6ZC837S You can also listen on Apple Podcasts or YouTube - search ‘The Mel Robbins Podcast Small Choices.’

I'm so excited to share this story with you. This is the story behind why I became a co-founder of Pure Genius Protein. I’ve listened to the world’s leading doctors and experts come on The Mel Robbins Podcast and say the same thing: Women need more protein. For hormones. For longevity. For muscle. For energy. For life. Ever since 2024, I've made it my personal health goal to get more protein. I was doing everything I could to try and get my protein...cooking, blending, meal-prepping, buying high calorie protein snacks, or choking down a huge shake. But every day I was still falling short. I know so many other women can relate. I got involved with Pure Genius Protein because I wanted to help solve a real gap so many women struggle with: getting enough protein in a way that actually fits real life. I didn't intend to create a protein company. I just had a problem I was trying to solve. Like you, I was trying to eat more protein and found it incredibly difficult to reach my daily goal. I was looking for something simple, delicious, and high-quality on the go, but I couldn't find it. In late 2024, I became a co-founder of Pure Genius to help create it. I saw a real need for a high-quality protein shot that was not just for serious athletes, but for everyone: all ages, all body types, all professions, all people. Something simple, trustworthy, and easy. And that’s exactly what Pure Genius Protein is. 💡 Read the full story on puregeniusprotein.com/ML And thank you to the INCREDIBLE Emma Grede for having me on Aspire with Emma Grede to talk about Pure Genius - I loved sharing how I co-founded this product. Thank you for always uplifting and supporting the women around you.

I recently read that we make something like 35,000 choices a day - which got me thinking: Have you ever noticed how the smallest choices can have a surprisingly big impact on the kind of day you have? Those choices either set you up to do and feel great, or they can derail your entire day. Like have you ever picked up your phone to send a quick text and next thing you know, you’ve spent an hour scrolling on social media, you’ve bought a sweatshirt you didn’t need, and you never even sent the text you meant to (been there 🙋‍♀️)? In that moment, look at what the small choice to open up social media cost you: An hour of your precious time, money you didn’t need to spend, and a chance to connect with someone. And here’s the kicker… You didn’t even decide to make that choice. It just happened on autopilot. A lot of the time, your day doesn’t fall apart all at once or from a single decision. The direction of your day shifts one small - and sometimes mindless - choice at a time. And there are little tipping points throughout your day where these choices matter more than you realize: Right when you wake up. In the middle of the day, like between tasks or on your lunch break. At night, when you’re deciding whether to wind down or keep going. These moments are tipping points because they’re when you make choices that… Quietly steal or save your time. Drain your energy or fuel you. Determine whether you feel focused or fried. That’s why I made an episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast where I walk you through 4 simple but powerful “micro choices” you can CONSCIOUSLY make during these key moments throughout your day - that will give you more control over your time and energy.

If you’re feeling lost right now, you need to hear this. You so often tie your worth and your happiness to outcomes. Did you get the job? Did you find the person? Did you succeed? Did it turn out the way you wanted? And when the answer to any of those questions is no, you feel stuck, lost, like you are failing... But according to world-renowned cancer neurosurgeon and neuroscientist Dr. Rahul Jandial, life isn’t about counting the wins… It’s about taking the shots. Dr. Jandial has treated and operated on more than 15,000 patients with stage four cancer. He says that the people who feel the most peace at the end of life are the ones who cared less about the outcome. They’re the ones who pursued opportunities, trusted their instincts, and took chances. In this episode of The Mel Robbins Podcast, Dr. Jandial shares the powerful lessons he’s learned from decades of working with patients facing life’s hardest moments. This episode is both a wake-up call and a lifeline to hold if you’re going through something hard right now. 🎧 “This One Episode Will Change How You Think About the World & Your Life (From #1 Cancer Surgeon)” - tune into this episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube - search “The Mel Robbins Podcast - Top Cancer Doctor.” I'll link it in the comments, too.

Don’t let your ambition crowd out all the other stuff that lights you up - your loved ones, your health, your unique interests and hobbies that don’t “go anywhere.” Relentlessly chasing achievement is great until too much time goes by and you realize… You can’t remember the last time you spent uninterrupted, quality time with your partner. You can’t remember the last time you read a book not for work, not for learning, but for fun. You can’t remember the last time you intentionally tended to your mental or physical health. When’s the last time you enjoyed “wasting” time? I’m not suggesting you shrink your goals, ambition, or dreams. I worked extremely hard for my career - it’s a huge, important, and beautiful part of my life! I’m suggesting you have some boundaries. I do not check my work email on the weekends. I don’t pick up my phone in the morning until I’ve walked the dogs and drank water. I’m intentional about spending quality time with my husband and three kids. And as much as I can, I leave room for learning about things that interest me - like this fiction writing class I’m taking right now! Because the peace, connection, love, and joy that you get from those things is what success is supposed to support - not replace.
