Tonight, a non Iranian Canadian friend sent me what’s being shared on #China owned #TikTok social media about Abbas Araghchi (Iran’s foreign minister abhorred by 90% of Iran) and it is trending (ie. popular and liked as a post). This made my heart sink! I’m not on #TikTok and have always been wary about the ownership of that social media channel and the idea of giving my data to an illiberal regime with no red lines on #privacy and #security. But my friend’s outreach helped me understand the asymmetrical war that’s being fought with America’s youth and algorithms turning American and western youth against #humanrights and #Democracy. Look at the language and slang being used. This posts isn’t talking to people my age or older. Look at how #socialmedia is being used to win hearts for oppressors and change the fabric of our society for future generations on the theme of #AntiAmericanism. If you’re an Iranian immigrant to the west or an ally to Iranians in Iran of any background, This is why authentic voices challenging the propaganda, targeting #America and the world, are important. This regime is trying to erase Iranians through 25 days (and counting) of prolonged internet outage. Pls Repost I’m being asked a lot by friends and colleagues what Iranians think of the #news on Iran lately. Here is a good summary. A regime change in #Iran that involves people inside the power structure is no regime change at all. Anyone who is inside this web IS the Islamic Regime. All of them have Iranian blood on their hands. Ghalibaf is responsible for the murder of protesting students in 1999. Khatami was the President who sanctioned it. Rouhani and Zarif are responsible for the second-largest massacre of Iranians in recent years (Bloody Aban). They are also responsible for the shooting down of the PS752 passenger plane. Pezeshkian made hijab mandatory in the university he worked at BEFORE the Islamic Regime made it mandatory nation-wide. He publicly pledged loyalty to Khamenei's will before he was elected. Ahmadinejad is responsible for the crackdown of a nationwide protests that claimed many lives and whose scars, like Neda Agah-Soltan and Taraneh Mousavi, still stains on the body of the Iranian nation. Mousavi, who is now even in house arrest, was the worst of them all. He was Iran's Prime Minister from 1981 to 1989, during which time swathes of the population were massacred and thrown into mass graves.
