This may be a bit harsh But it's true: You have to be so, so, so ignorant to ask an AI tool to analyze work or strategy and think its opinion is worthwhile Following Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other LLM is like putting a rookie in charge of a project because he's read 3 blog posts and a few Reddit threads Ultimately: These tools do extremely basic work well They can't do high-level thinking Be humble and let an actual expert lead

When I scroll LinkedIn: "My AI workflow made me $100k" "My AI content got 25,000,000 views" "My AI messages booked me 50 meetings" When I talk to real people (many of them very successful) who aren't selling an AI course, tool, or service: "I'm not getting results from it" "The work it does just isn't good" "I'm not sure if it's even positive-ROI" The gap between hype and real results is massive I think more and more people are seeing that

Congrats to everyone who has now been 6 months away from obsolete for 3.5 years straight Real talk: I do think the world is changing Some careers will be downsized But it's not happening nearly as quickly as people keep predicting over and over again Those who are in the AI world are naturally going to overestimate its timeline and abilities, whether that's on purpose or subconscious Regardless, fear likely won't help you It's mostly used to get clicks and sales

Put your hand up if you think there's roughly a 0% chance of this actually happening 🤚 I'm not an Elon Musk hater But stuff like this gives me the same feeling I get when someone is giving me a slick sales pitch for something that won't actually help me I guess we'll see

"AI will change everything" "How?" "You have no idea what's coming" "What's coming?" "You have 6 months left" "Till what?" "Buy my course/coaching/consulting/tool"

Simple system for picking the right person: 1. Is it just Q&A on a call or do they have a friendlier structure? I split the time between Loom videos, profile rewrites, DM templates, and more. That's because everyone needs something different, and Q&A is often surface level. 2. Do they have results they can show you? Not "trusted by" logos. Actual experiences with clients and the metrics that came from them. 3. Have they helped people who don't do exactly what they do? For example, the LinkedIn coach who just coaches aspiring LinkedIn coaches. 4. Is the price right? Obviously you don't want to be spending what you can't afford. I'd also caution you against pricey group coaching. They tend to be worse value for money than a reasonably priced consult (you can always get a second or third consultation if you need more time). If they check all the boxes, go for it Stuff like this can save you years of trial and error

Foundational persuasion principle: (That is getting even more important in the AI age) Different is almost as persuasive as good Meaning, while showing that you can do the job is always most important, uniqueness is often what gets you the job or sale because it sets you apart The more people use AI, the less unique they become, and the more opportunity there is for people who clearly aren't using it That's true for: - Cover letters - Content - Copywriting - Cold outreach - And more Keep it real

Sometimes people hire me the day they find me Sometimes they wait almost half a decade Either way, content leads to trust And that's true whether they find you on the timeline, are referred to you, or you reach out to them with a DM Add at least 1 of the P's to every post, and they all become assets that might pay today, in a month, or even in a few years

Extremely important to understand: (Especially if you sell B2B) 1. Decision makers tend to like AI even less than the average person does, and the average person doesn't like it at all unless it's mindless entertainment 2. Decision makers tend to have very a good intuitive "AI sensor." They can see patterns, and once they do, they get moderately to very put off I'd still probably choose a person with tons of proof who does AI messages over someone who has no proof but writes them by hand But that's rarely a choice I have to make There's almost always a person with proof, positioning, and outreach that isn't slop, so you're not really winning with AI no matter what The same goes for content Keep it real, always

Posting this because: 1. It's a first ballot hall of famer for awful cold outreach 2. I want to remind you that concise, conversational, value-offering messages work great as long as you have proof and positioning No gimmicks Just foundations done right
