“Healthcare innovation comes from diverse teams relentlessly pursuing meaningful problems, in the right place, at the right time.”
This quote resonated me so much from Halle Tecco, MPH, MBA’s new book, Massively Better Healthcare. I cannot recommend it enough as I voraciously finished it on my recent 6-hour plane ride—and will certainly need to go back several times. As someone who has been working in the healthcare innovation space from the provider’s perspective for over 10 years now, this book elicited so many memories and emotions. Whether you’ve been entrenched in this industry or looking to get more insight and knowledge about the complex healthcare landscape, the book is accessible and full of pockets of wisdoms. And if you’re like me, I loved all the 2x2s and charts sprinkled throughout—plus incorporating the public health perspective is certainly an aspect that healthcare innovators miss. The book is actionable and motivational—giving you the considerations and lessons learned from someone who dived into this crazy—but impactful—industry. I hope I never become one of the C.O.G.s in healthcare.
We need more folks who are ready to tackle the hard questions in healthcare—and get to “how do we” innovate. Let’s go forth and fix healthcare.
