So a few months back I did a really big gig without really knowing it was a really big gig.
I ran a session for Richard Moore's Art of Sell.
Turns out, other guest speakers for that spot include:

š„ Lara Acosta
š„ Magali De Reu
š„ Chris Do
š„ Maya Raichoora
š„ Matt Barker
so you can see the kind of circle Richard has...
(And no, I'm not tagging them, you know how to find them, and I'm not writing this to get their attention š )
So why me?
I went to one of Andrew and Pete's events in London where Richard was a special guest attendee. He was given the mic at one point and I (being a voice nerd) was immediately analysing the sound. (For anyone interested, Richard places his voice beautifully in the 'mask', lovely flexible natural resonance, very unusual in untrained English men, in my experience!)
As I was leaving I just said hello and something about how I liked his voice tone... Can't remember what exactly, but it was enough to get Richard's attention and we had a bit of a chat about voice and he said, you should come and speak to my community, and I said yes absolutely, not knowing at all what the community was, but because I am always pleased to be asked to speak... I love sharing what I do, and helping people to develop their voices and enjoy speaking more.
And I liaised with the lovely Vita S. and we set up the session and the community found it valuable I think, I got some lovely responses afterwards, and I really enjoyed doing it, and made some new 'LinkedIn friends'!
And then... I finally got around to checking out the other masterclasses that I was kindly given access to and I thought... Crikey.
Talk about playing with the big kids...! #punching
Anyway, I tell you this to say, a connection-first mentality, connection connection connection, approaching all connections with a spirit of generosity, being open, saying yes and figuring it out later, sharing your experiences and expertise whenever it will help... I really recommend this approach, it works out for me pretty well and I am grateful for all the opportunities that come my way because of it. ā¤ļø
