Everyone’s asking the wrong question about AI + SaaS. The question isn’t: “Is AI going to replace Salesforce / Gong / Outreach?” The better question is: “Where is AI safe enough to use today… and where is it still too risky?” I unpacked this on the latest #StartupsUnedited with my boy Craig Rosenberg (Chief Platform Officer at Scale Venture Partners, co-host of The Transaction). Craig’s take was simple and brutally real: ✅ We’re in an AI productivity revolution ❌ Not a full rip-and-replace moment (yet) Because most companies can’t gamble with their core systems when: buying environments are uneven budgets are tighter buyers are uncertain and people can’t lose their jobs over a tool that doesn’t work So what’s actually happening? AI is showing up in “low-risk” workflows first: account research messaging drafts data enrichment + workflows (Clay keeps coming up for a reason) But the core stack? Craig basically said what everyone’s thinking: The core stays until the use case proves itself. And if you’re a “traditional SaaS” company trying to survive right now, the playbook isn’t vibes. It’s: -Have an AI answer (even if it’s built alongside your core product) -Stay anchored to the customer problem (value is value) -Win where stability matters (vertical + enterprise motion helps) -Accept the reality: CAC is going up and channel behavior has changed He gave a great example: Intercom's Fin - a smart way to evolve without breaking trust. If you’re a founder or GTM leader trying to separate hype from reality… this one’s worth your time. 🎙️ Episode is live now (link in comments) — Also: if you want to go deeper on what’s working right now in AI + GTM (and what’s BS), Craig Rosenberg, James Kaikis, Matt Amundson, & I are hosting this live event at LinkedIn HQ in San Francisco, March 26th. RSVP here: https://luma.com/w6x2lgd9 👇 Question for you: Where are you seeing AI create real leverage in GTM today - and where is it still too risky?
