I’ve spent more than a decade meeting startup founders in Seattle, learning about their businesses and sharing their stories. Now I’m ready to work alongside founders and help supercharge the next generation of technology startups. I’m excited to join Yifan Zhang, Jacob Colker, and the team at AI2 Incubator as the new director of AI House — the epicenter for entrepreneurs, experts, and engineers building in this defining era of AI. First, I want to express my gratitude to GeekWire co-founders John Cook and Todd Bishop. They gave me an opportunity and supported my growth as a tech reporter and leader. It’s been an epic ride with them and all my GeekWire colleagues. We’re at a unique time in tech. The rise of LLMs and generative AI is transforming how companies create products and grow their teams. Traditional fundamentals still matter — but it’s clear that the blueprint for building a business is being re-written in real-time. AI House is focused on helping founders learn the new startup playbook and navigate this technological shift. We do this by hosting founder-focused programming at our space along the Seattle waterfront; connecting entrepreneurs with seasoned operators through a Resident Expert program; and sharing AI-era startup insights from leaders across the industry. We’re supported by AI2 Incubator, one of the world’s leading AI incubators that recently raised an $80 million fund, and by a group of key corporate and community partners. I can’t wait to help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into the next great tech companies — in Seattle, and beyond.
