I have been writing alot more simply because people I meet ask 'What's on your mind?' then they add you have such a strong 'personal brand'... people are interested in what you have to say. But 'personal brand' to me is not about the insta feed, or the number of followers infact I've come to believe we're focusing on the wrong thing. An 'idea' is something you broadcast. It's the thinking, the opinions, the story you tell. But your reputation... that's what is said about you when you're not in the room. Your values. It's the truth of your actions, your consistency, and your character, and it is earned, not created. In any career, your reputation is the currency that truly matters. It's what opens doors long before your 'brand' ever will. Today is International Womens Day #IWD - it's a Sunday - and it is pretty quiet. Yet late last week a number of reports were released. According to the latest Chief Executive Women (CEW) CEO Census, only 12% of ASX200 CEOs are women. And the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) reports a total remuneration gender pay gap of 21.7%. It lacks a spark. It's technically correct, but the humanity is missing. I was deeply humbled and a little overwhelmed to be included in this year's Australia Day Honours. Thank you for all the wonderful texts and messages. For me, this OAM is not a personal accolade.
